Alvechurch lions 4 Kingshurst Sports 3 09/09/07
This match was a very eagerly competitive match between two even sides, it seemed as if alvechurch lions where going to win the match from the start with a strong offence and a virtually unbreakable defence. Alvechurch lions got off to a flying start and was 2-0 with an attack that constantly bombarded the kingshurst goal they looked certain to score more goals and a defence that looked like it would not concede a goal. This changed a few minutes from half time when kingshurst colts scored a stunning goal to pull the score back to 2-1 just before the 2nd half. Shortly after the 2nd half started alvechurch lions scored another goal to make it 3-1 which widened the goal difference to 2 goals again. Not long after alvechurch lions scored there 3rd goal kingshurst colts realised how far behined they was and pulled together to score a goal in an affort to not let Alvechurch lions completely run away with the match which made the score 3-2. Alvechurch lions quickly replied to the kingshurst colts goal and with a quick break scored yet another goal and the score was 4-2 near the end of the match which looked like they was surely going to win. Extremely close to the end of the match kingshurst colts managed to pull another goal back and was constantly attacking for the last few minutes which was tense for the Alvechurch lions defence but they managed to keep the lead through till the end of the match. A big well done to both teams for a fantastic game good luck colts for the rest of the season and come on you lions.
Alvechurch Lions 2 Santiago Colts 7 16/09/07
This was a bit of a shock to the system after a well earned win in kingshurst the week before the lads didnt really turn up for this one. It was gonna be one of those days to be fair after being hit by a double wamee in the first 2 minutes you just knew where it was going to end. Not taking any thing away from santiago who played well we just wasnt at the races this is a team who has good ability and can play footy on the day so this result wont be remembered by next week. There were some good all round performances but it just didnt happen as a team the lads were all dissapointed but they will get over it pick them selves up and get on with the job in hand next week. The goals for the lions came from an inform jonti aremband with a well worked solo goal for the first and the second from connor lomas who managed to get on the end of a deflection to guide it home so well done to them. And of course well done to the rest of the team it was one of those days boys and it wont be the last but chin up after all tomorrow is another day. Good luck in the cup for next week and a big well done to all the parents who work hard for this really good bunch of lads and team cheers.

Well this is what footy is all about one minute your down next minute your up what a difference a week makes. This really was a great game end to end stuff from start to finish both teams on top of there game its a shame there had to be a looser. Lyndon deserved this as much as the lions the team spirit from both sides was fantastic and the parents and coaching staff should all be proud of the way the game was controlled. Another top performance from jonti aremband with 3 well taken goals and louis phillips with 2 goals one screamer 5 yards outside the box and another fine goal from lewis styles. Also top man of the match performances from jonti aremband and charles jeynes who really helped keep this lions team on track to the final whistle. Not forgetting some great defensive work from liam o'neil and alex crow and also the two lads who worked hard up front mattew fletcher and connor lomas. So well done to you all what a fantastic turn around from the week before. Good luck to lyndon for the the rest of the season there is a really good team there it goes without saying thanks for a great game cheers.
Alvechurch Lions 0 Bourneville Warriors 14 open cup 30/09/07
This game was going to be a big test for the lions spirit with the midfield dynamo jonti away and matthew unavailable the lions were down to 6 players for this cup clash with league c team Bournville. It was always going to be an up hill battle from the start the players tried there best but couldnt find the back of the warriors net, try as they must it was half time with the score 8-0 to the warriors. Well the second half started well and again it was to much to ask for the lions to pull of any shock in this game they didnt try and defend they tried to go forward at every chance and as you know you leave your self open at the back which we did on several accasions. not taking any thing away from the warriors they played well and finished well and the whistle went and the lions had gone down 14-0 good luck to Bournville for the next round. But just to finish the lads who truely are lions for today well done big effort from one and all thank you all for giving it a go well done to charles jeynes, alex crow, liam o'neill, lewis styles, louise phillips, connor lomas, good o see you all next week.
