MATCH REPORTS

Lions end 5 years of waiting…..

5 long years of playing Bromsgrove and no wins, always a tough and fair game, always played in the right spirit, always wanting a win and today…

The Lions kicked up hill in the first half and were put under pressure for the first ten minutes with the visitors dominating the early exchanges, Bromsgrove played some good football but came up against a determined and composed Lions defence.

The Rock battled hard to ensure no boy will pass, Mr Cool looked determined against a strong attack and Jeff just keeps getting better each game, Zico is now beginning to show his class as he keeps things moving down the left.

Midfield also had their hands full as they tried to keep Bromsgrove play to a limit, and after the first ten minutes began to get a grip of the game and take the pressure off the defence.

Up front Alex and Alex kept the visitors on their toes with some determined runs and strong forward play.

The Lions tho went behind to a long ball and clever finish, The Cat kept the score down to 1 0 at half time with a brave challenge on the visitors forward.

Half Time – Lions 0 Bromsgrove 1

The Lions wanted victory today, Speedy came on to replace The Bullet as Sam swapped wings. Speedy wanted to prove a point and gave us a performance to remember, he knew the boys wanted a win and gave his all with some excellent forward play.

After dominating the early exchanges the Lions were awarded a penalty and for the third time this season Zico converted a penalty against Bromsgrove, the Lions had their tails up but were punished by a strong goal form the visitors.

Damn, all the hard work, a free kick gave us an opportunity for Zico to deliver a dangerous ball in, the ball bounced over physco who took the main defenders with him, and found Becks unmarked, poor control and a miss kick and the score was level.

Again tho back came Bromsgrove and secured a third with goal mouth scramble.

Well the lads had to go again and Physco lead the way with a super strike from the edge of the box, the Lions now at 3 all could we go on and win. The game was well poised as Becks cracked in a pile driver from 35 yards to give the Lions the lead.

The defence locked up with 7 minutes to go and ensured that we would get the 3 points.

Full time – Lions 4 Bromsgrove 3

Supporters man of the match – Zico, strong defending and determination

Managers man of the match – Blondie – Back to form strong running and determination

Lads great performance from you all and a great game to watch, remember the feeling of victory and lets build on this performance.
